Any good albums you listen to at home to do pilates, meditate and do yoga? I haven’t do this for my research for my novel, since I’m not flexible to do yoga and pilates. But any preferences of any music to do it to, from pilates and yoga instructors, and any one who takes the classes? I’ve listed Michael Bublé in my novel. Would he be good too?

I have Asperger’s Syndrome and Clinical Depression. I get these random bouts of anger and sadness and it frustrates my friends and family. This and a bunch of other things are causing a great deal of stress for me. I’ve tried writing, meditating and taking walks, but they don’t help. The only thing that seems to work for me is binge eating. I just eat and eat and it scares some of my friends. I’m trying to find other stress relief methods, but I can’t. Please help.

Everyone is seeking some form of anxiety and stress relief. Hopefully you haven’t resorted to self-medication with alcohol. Rather than applying a balm to the sore of stress, why not find a way to stop the stress from getting out of hand in the first place. I’ll take preventative medicine over reactive medicine any day.
One effective approach to getting anxiety and stress relief is to address the thinking in your mind that is causing the stress. The whole field of cognitive psychology is devoted to this approach. So, one type of faulty thinking that can lead to stress, anxiety and depression is all-or-nothing thinking.

I have seen a few claims here and on other forums that if you meditate or get hypnosis, then the door is open for demons to come in. However, I cannot find a source for this idea. Do you really believe that quieting the mind is dangerous? If so is there a Biblical basis for this? What about our ordinary state of mental chatter? Can a demon really get through to someone who is in meditation that cannot get through when that person is worried about their to-do list, what they are going to have for dinner tonight, etc?

I’m interested in TM as it is advocated by people I respect in other fields however I’m put off by it’s cost. I’ve also read some reports that any similar style of meditation is just as effective, so I am looking to try some. Thanks!

Doing yoga for stress relief doesn’t have to be an involved routine. If you don’t have time to do a full yoga routine, use the separate parts of yoga to relax and rejuvenate.
Deep breathing, meditation and poses can go a long way toward conquering stress. Simple yoga techniques take minutes to do and can be incorporated into your exercise routine. You can also do them whenever stress takes its toll to regain your balance.

I’ve always had a problem with neck and shoulder tension. I’ve taken up the violin and my tension is affecting my ability to play well and comfortably.
I have a pretty good amount of stress in my life. I know that stress reduction would be important, but I can’t really help the stress I have. Plus, it doesn’t seem to affect me emotionally, just more physically.
I’m always so tense! I don’t know how to loosen up my body.
It’s definitely not the computer. I don’t have a lot of time for it!

I’d like one that not only covers the basic poses, but covers some of the history of yoga & explains the benefits of the poses.
