I am looking for a non-fussy exercise that I can do at home. I would like to sweat a little from it, but the main thing is that I exercise my muscles safely (not interested in muscle building). I have tried a little bit of yoga, and I really liked how I felt afterwards. I really like the stretching, and breathing aspects. But, I am a Christian, and the spiritual aspect of yoga;the fact that it’s leaning toward Eastern religion, bothers me (no offense to those who believe it). Thanks for your answers!

The 21st Century is best characterized by the advent of ultra-modern technology, global commercial and business, and the unstoppable desire to get and stay ahead. Because of these factors, business corporations compete in a world where the economy is active 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This phenomenon created a demand for employees that would work even during the night upto the wee hours of the morning. This work schedule reversed employee lifestyle, making the day their time to for sleeping. Shifts may disrupt the normal body functions, hamper sleep cycles, and reduce the body’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is found in the central nervous system and impacts multiple functions like mood, sleep, sexuality, and appetite. This neurotransmitter may also promote cell regeneration.

Studies show that non-day shift workers tend to have lower levels of “feel-good” hormones called serotonin.  Researchers at the University of Buenos Aires led by Dr. Carlos J, Pirola studied 683 men and compared 437 day workers to 246 shift workers. The results, the shift workers’ serotonin levels, measured through blood tests were significantly lower than those on regular day schedules. In addition to reduced serotonin levels, shift workers were also found to have higher cholesterol, hip-to-waist ratios, increased blood pressure, and higher triglyceride levels.

Is yoga an orthodox division of Hinduism from the beginning?

Or yoga originally had nothing to do with Hinduism, but has been absorbed in Hinduism later?

I know they are not the same but if one is meditating is it possible that they could astral project if they are deep enough in meditation? I guess it would take years or a lifetime to be able to get to that point. The reason why I’m asking is that I want to learn to meditate but do not wish to astral project.
I read the answers posted so far and that is what I thought. The reason why I don’t want to astral project is because it is possible to open yourself up to evil presences. I would be interested to know how the experience feels however to those who have tried it. Also do you think it is possible to open yourself to an evil presence while mediatating? I have never heard such a thing and they always say that mediation is good for you. Is it possible to go so deep that you could actually lose yourself?

why is it important to be aware of the connection between time and stress management

I am of Asian origin and currently working here in Middle East. I am contemplating on migrating to OZ. Can you provide comparison between the work stress, work attitude, how you deal with locals etc between the Middle East and Australia. Which one is harder or laid back etc? I would like to get the answers from people who has already worked in this two parts of the world. Many thanks.
